Rating: - Excellent bit of kit.
Mine replaces a Treo 270 that finally gave up the ghost. Initially, being a Linux head I was sceptical about the Windows Mobile aspect of the phone, but after some searching was swayed by the generally favourable reviews.
The lack of touch screen is slightly limiting, but after spending a short time getting used to the navigation system, this is not really an issue.
The built in software includes a basic text editor. Replacements are readily available from Tucows or similar, which allow ... Read More
Rating: - not as user friendly as palm 680
I had palm 680 before i bought It thinking it will be as good or better than 680 .It should clerly state that It is not touch screen.Palm 680 is easier to use.
Rating: - Palm Treo 500
The treo is a good all round organiser / phone. I put a 4gig memory card in it and it holds everything I need it to. It connect easily to bluetooth devices etc.
If I was to grumble I would say the following; The camera is ok but only 2 megapixel. A 3 plus camera is obviously better. When the phone is locked and out of signal (factory floor for example) it goes to sleep and won't pick up a strong signal unless switched off and on again.
Those are the only 2 gripes I have, otherwise a good ... Read More
Rating: - Disappointing
I bought this phone as I liked the fact it had a QWERTY keyboard, a camera, mp3 player, PDA, email, large screen etc etc.
And it does.
What my phone, and my partner's version (Treo 500V) doesn't have is decent battery life.
My phone - if I use the mp3 player to and from work, send an email, play a game etc - will not even last one day without a charge.
Switching applications is slow, and the point of having a camera phone is to be able to take quick ... Read More
Rating: - I got it with my O2 contract
PROS:
Like the keyboard, doesn't feel cheap.
Menu system is not that complicated.
Sturdy build.
Nice screen.
CONS:
Takes it's time switching between some programs (shame it's got the MS virus).
Powering ON/OFF is slow.
Needs a headset as holding the phone to your ear makes listening hard.
